It took a while, but summer weather is here! The heavy rains were preventing lawn mowing around parks – but drier weather is finally allowing public works to begin trimming. Neighbors in the Ward 1 area have seen roads getting new surfaces with mill and overlay. A larger section is scheduled next year east of 100 and south of 36th Ave. These repairs are not assessed and financed through existing road repair funds through the tax levy.

Congratulations to our Crystal Recreation department for winning two Excellence awards from the MN Recreation and Park Association on June 4 at our city council meeting! Recreation Services Manager Scott Berggren (left) and Recreation Director John Elholm (right) were recognized for the Edible Courtyard garden project  and the Young Mudders event. You can watch and cheer on the “mudders” Sat. June 8, 8:30 -10:30am at Valley Place Park , where over 200 kids will navigating a fun obstacle course and more.
